AN EXTRA SIGN-IN CHECK
Protect your account.
Set up an authenticator
Your authenticator app generates a six-digit code. You’ll enter it with your password when you sign in. You’ll also save recovery codes before turning protection on.
Starting again replaces any unfinished setup. Protection stays off until you verify a code.
1. Add this account
In your authenticator app, choose to add an account using a setup key. Select a time-based code, enter the account name below, then copy the key.
2. Save your recovery codes
Keep these somewhere private, separate from this device. A recovery code and your password can reset a lost authenticator. That reset invalidates all old recovery codes and signs out other devices.
These codes are shown only during this setup. This page does not send them to an email address or save them on your device automatically.
3. Verify and turn it on
Turn off authenticator protection
This will remove the authenticator and invalidate its recovery codes. Other devices will be signed out. Your current session will remain open.
Lost your authenticator? Sign out and explicitly choose recovery reset on the sign-in page. Enter your password and one saved recovery code, then set up a new authenticator.
